Hi! I'm Mai, a multidisciplinary designer and maker, with a design background from Linnaeus University, Sweden and mechanical engineering from the National University of Singapore.
I enjoy working at the intersection of materials, technology, sustainability and social entrepreneurship. For more than a decade, I have built things ranging from factory automation lines, to educational tools and maker ecosystems, as well as led grassroot fabrication labs and re-imagined traditional crafts.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with artisans, startups, companies and non-profit organisations including IKEA, UNESCO and the Fab City Foundation to design household products, co-creation workshops and innovation programs.
These days, my practice moves between hands-on experimentation, systems-level designs and community education.
